Our 2026 Jury

This year, our short film competition will be judged by an outstanding jury made up of:

Charas Vega, also known online as @charcastrology, is a content creator, journalist and writer who has previously served as a juror at the Sitges Film Festival. She is known for using astrology on social media as a cultural lens through which to interpret current events, for having written thirteen books (published by Penguin Random House and Planeta), and for her collaborations with media outlets such as Vice and Radio Primavera Sound.

Lizette Nin Jimani is a queer Dominican artist based in Barcelona whose work explores identity, memory and Afro-descendant experiences through an interdisciplinary practice. In 2019, she received a scholarship for the Independent Studies Programme at MACBA, and in 2021 she was awarded at the Dominican Republic’s Photography and Video Biennial. She is a member of the collective Sexiliadxs, through which she develops an artistic practice connected to dissident and migrant communities.

Her work has been presented at institutions such as HKW in Berlin and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Her most recent solo exhibition, El cuerpo como nación (BAR Project / BAU, Barcelona), further consolidates her expanding international trajectory: her work has been acquired by the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in New York and will be featured in an exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago in April 2026.

Marina Velveth (@velvethmarina) is a genre film enthusiast who trained in Applied Illustration at EASD Alcoi. She co-hosts the podcast TerrorActo with her colleagues, where guests have included figures such as Nacho Vigalondo, Carlota Pereda and Javier Botet, among others.

She also co-hosts Baby & Jane alongside Noemí Navarra (@lanoetelocuenta), a podcast that highlights the role of women in cinema as directors and screenwriters. In addition, she collaborates on Scrolling, hosted by El Plural, where she discusses genre cinema. She is currently dedicated to sharing and promoting horror cinema on social media, aiming to spread her passion to new audiences.

Saya Solana is a multidisciplinary artist, esoteric advisor and actress. She holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Barcelona. From an early age, she has been drawn to horror in both film and literature. Her artistic and personal journey, with mystery as a leitmotif, is shaped by transfeminine dissidence and queer expressivity.

As an actress, she has taken on leading roles in films by directors such as Marc Ferrer, Adrián Silvestre and Cande Lázaro.
