OUR COLLABORATORS

Xavi Sánchez Pons (Barcelona, 1976). Film critic specialized in fantasy and horror, he’s responsible for the publications department and a member of the programming team of the Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival of Catalonia. He’s been working for more than 20 years publishing film reviews and interviews in different media, and writing extra materials for the Blu-Ray releases of Severin Films, Mondo Macabro, A Contracorriente Films, El Setantanou and Divisa. He wrote the book El almanaque del video: Historia gráfica y oral de la era del videoclub (2021), and he’s part of the fantasy/horror-specific podcasts Marea Nocturna and ¡Estamos vivas!
Sabina Pujol. A total cinephile, a professional subtitler and a detective capable of finding the rarest cinematographic pearls. If there’s a screen and a good story, you’ll probably find me around. I am part of the programming team of film festivals such as Filmets, B-Retina and Cryptshow, where I hunt for films I can fall in love with (or get traumatized, depending on the case). Apart from that, I translate and subtitle so that big stories can reach everyone without losing an iota of their charm. My obsession for audiovisual and languages led me to study Scripting at the Escola de Guionistes de Barcelona and Micro Obert, and later I finished the Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation at the UAB to finally become an expert in making films speak languages. When I’m not subtitling or having headaches over creating the perfect film schedules, I’m probably at some film festival hunting for precious films, watching films non-stop (or defending some underestimated cult film). So now you know: if you have any festival-related projects, call me and I’ll fly over with popcorn.
