HDA
Direction: Javier Artigas
9’ – Spain, 2024 (OV Spanish)
Abel is already thirty and he refuses to change to fit society’s expectations. His friend Sandra insists on him looking for someone to settle down with, something that sounds more like an imposition than advice. Both friends witness a wedding ceremony that is not what it seems: the union between the two people involved turns out to be literal, merging into one, a system that Abel refuses to go throug. It’s an extended and radical solution to an overpopulation problem which, in this way, reduces considerably the amount of inhabitants of the planet. Despite the grotesque scene, Abel ends up accepting his destiny when, by chance, he finds someone with whom he believes he could “fit”.
