Continuing our Teenage Monsters cycle, for our third installment we bring you Party Monster. We know what you’re thinking and yes, you’re absolutely right: there’s very little teen about the characters of this movie. But what can we say? A trilogy sells well and feels nicely rounded. Besides, we all survived countless twenty-somethings playing high schoolers in teen dramas without raising an eyebrow. This one goes out to our true crime fans. You’re in for a treat with this story based on real events. And really, who could resist a film starring Macaulay Culkin, the eternal golden boy, alongside a parade of early-2000s screen heartthrobs?
Join us on March 26th at Inusual Project to revel in this camp gem. As usual, we’ll gather at 7:30 PM to warm things up together, with the screening starting at 8:00 PM.

Party Monster
Direction: Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato
98′ – USA, 2003 (Original version with Catalan subtitles)
Late 1980s. Michael Alig, a young newcomer to New York, meets the magnetic James Clark (better known as James St. James), who takes him under his wing and grooms him to become the next superstar of the nightlife scene. Armed with boundless ambition and shameless opportunism, Michael climbs to the top of the social hierarchy and helps propel the club kids (outrageous wigs, wild makeup, scandalous outfits and all) to peak notoriety in the city’s hottest clubs.
But curiosity killed the cat. As Michael spirals into drug abuse and mounting debts, things take a darker turn. Between glitter and decay, Party Monster, the glam Trainspotting, chronicles the meteoric rise and catastrophic fall of a shooting star.
